Dublin U16 defeat Offaly

U16 Leinster Championship:

Dublin 4-17 Offaly 3-07

Dublin U16's maintained their unbeaten run in the Leinster Championship following their 13 point victory over Offaly, the game was an entertaining encounter played in glorious conditions. Todays result has more than likely guaranteed Dublin qualification for this seasons provincial final with the Sky Blues still left to play one round robin fixture, away to Laois on Saturday April 20th.

The Faithful County battled hard throughout the sixty minutes to try and stay with their Dublin rivals but the clinical finishing by the Dublin forwards was the difference between the two sides. Five out of the six starting Dublin forwards were on the score sheet and were ably assisted in the scoring department by the mid field pairing of O'Neill and Byrne. In total ten Dublin players finished the game on the score card which gives the Dublin management team plenty of opinions and maybe even a slight dilemma when choosing the starting 15 to play Laois in two weeks time.

There were also strong performances in the Dublin defence especially the half back line of, Hannah Hegarty, Ciara Crotty and Rebecca McDonnell who were in commanding form.

Subs: Louise Whelan for Niamh O'Neill, Holly Greer for Byrne, Lucia Hughes for Jennings, Jennifer O'Dell for McKeown, Saoirse Ward Ralph for Troy.
