Dubs U16's overcome Meath ..

Dublin v Meath clashes at any level are always sure to provide competitive and entertaining games.

The first half of Saturdays U16 game in Westmanstown certainly lived up to our expectations. Although playing into a strong breeze and generally on top throughout the field Dublin could not gain ascendency on the scoreboard and worryingly had10 wide's in the half.

Meath on the other hand made full use of all the scoring opportunities and had 1: 1 on the board within 12 mins, it would take to till the 17th minute before Dublin finally got off the mark.

The Dublin defence proceeded to keep Meath scoreless for the remainder of the half  while the forwards slowly started to find their range and recorded 3 more points to reach the break all square  Meath 1-01  Dublin 0 -04.

The second half was a completely different game as straight from the throw in Dublin stormed up field and went ahead for the first time in the game.

From that point on there was only going to be one winner and Dublin finally started link up well and take some great scores while never allowing Meath a foothold in the game.

Meath as one would expect battled hard to the end but on this occasion they couldn't live with the standard of Dublin's play in the second half....Final score Dublin 2 - 17 Meath 1 -03
