U16's overcome the challenge of Longford

Dublin U16s made it 3 wins from 3 with victory over Longford on Saturday in Westmanstown.

On top in most areas throughout the game the Dublin forwards gave an exhibition of point scoring with all six forwards getting on the score sheet, points where definitely the order of the day as Longford had an outstanding goalkeeper who certainly made her case for player of the game, full credit to the Dublin girls who very early on realised that kicking for points was going to be the route to victory and they proceeded to take some wonderful scores right throughout the game.

Although Skerries Tara O'Flaherty and Castleknock Megan Morrissey tied for top scorers on 1 - 5 each and Fiona Terry and Kate Murphy each scored 5 points without doubt the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for Westmanstown Gaels Rebecca McDonnell playing on her home club pitch who managed to chip in with a goal and a point from wing back.

Longford to their credit never stopped trying and their efforts were rewarded with a couple of excellent goals but they could never get close to a clinical Dublin team.

Next up for Dublin is the visit of neighbours Meath on the 28th of April. Venue TBC
