Dubs looking forward to Wexford double bill

  • Mar 23,2012

Dublin U14 and U16 squads are in action this Saturday when both teams make a trip to the sunny south east to play Wexford in the second round of the Leinster championship.

Both games are part of a double bill being played in Liam Mellows GAA club, Castletown, Co Wexford

U14 Dublin v Wexford is at 1.30pm followed by the U16 match at 3.00pm.

Dublin U14's had a good start to the defence of the Leinster crown with a 9-19 to 2-05 win over Kildare in the opening round of the 2012 championship meanwhile Wexford had suffered a 2-13 to 1-01 defeat at the hands of Meath.

Dublin U14 boss, Terry Jennings will be hoping his players settle early, do the business and bag three more valuable league points. Dublin have two additional rounds of fixtures left to play, 14th April versus Meath and on the 28th of April versus Laois.

Fearghall Brennan's chargers will be playing in act two of Saturday's double bill, this should be an interesting clash as both Dublin and Wexford enjoyed comfortable victories in round one.

Dublin overcame the challenge of Kildare on a 9-19 to 2-05 score line while goals where a key factor in Wexfords win over Meath,  Wexford 7-12 Meath 4-07.

Dublin's remaining fixtures in the championship are 7th April versus Longford, 28th of April versus Meath and 20th of May versus Laois.

Best of luck to both Dublin teams and their respective managements.
