Championship Scoring Stars!

  • Sep 03,2024

SEVEN of our Go-Ahead Ireland Junior club championship finals have now taken place.

During the course of these championship finals we have witnessed some superb team performances while also being treated to wonderful individual displays from a number of players.

Special mention to the following four footballers who have literally shot the stars out on the playing fields over the last few weeks and in doing so chalked up some astounding scoring stats!

Centre forward Aisling Carroll (Kilmacud Crokes) scored an impressive 3-02 from play in her clubs Junior E championship final win over St Anne’s.

Ciara Holland (Naomh Mearnóg) finished the Junior D championship final with a personal tally of 2-06. The experienced full forward scored from a penalty kick and also expertly tapped over three free’s all while contending with blustery conditions.

Fingal Ravens, Niamh Mulvaney scored 2-06 of her teams overall tally of 2-08 as they defeated Thomas Davis B to claim the Junior F Championship title. This victory was Final Ravens first ever adult championship final win in ladies football.

In a high scoring Junior D championship final, Kate Dwyer simply gave a scoring masterclass. The St Margarets ace notched up an over tally of 4-03 in her teams tussle with Naomh Mearnóg. Despite Dwyer’s performance,  St Margarets eventually lost out to Naomh Mearnóg in a thirteen-goal thriller.
