Live on TG4

Dublin vs Galway

Mick Bohan and his management team have made one change to their starting fifteen for this Saturday’s quarter final clash with Galway from that which defeated Kildare on the 23rd of June. Ellen Gribben comes into the starting lineup for Orlagh Nolan linking up with Caoimhe O’Connor and Carla Rowe on the Dublin half forward line.

Hannah McGinnis is named amongst the Dublin replacements following the conclusion of her leaving certificate exams. While six times All Ireland winner Sinéad Aherne is also included on the Dublin bench.

Dublin and Galway last championship meeting came in the 2019 All Ireland senior final. That game still holds the attendance record for a women’s All Ireland final. An amazing 56,114 patrons watched Dublin lift the Brendan Martin cup for a third year in a row having defeated Cork and Mayo in the two previous finals.

The two Counties played each other during the NFL back in February with the Dubs etching out a 0-16 to 1-12 victory over the tribeswomen. At the end of the NFL, Galway found themselves relegated to division two for the 2025 season alongside fellow quarter finalists, Cork.

To date, Galway have played three championship games, winning their Connacht final with Mayo, losing to Cork in the All-Ireland qualifiers before chalking up a 7-22 to 1-05 victory over Laois.

Between their Leinster championship and All Ireland series the dubs have played double the amount of fixtures than their opponents Galway. To date, Dublin have played six games defeating Kildare and Meath twice, while also accounting for Laois and Mayo.
