History Dublin LGFA

  • May 22,2024

Dublin LGFA history committee is now inviting clubs, members and supporters from day one to present times, to play their part in assisting them document and record the history of Ladies Gaelic football in Dublin.

Each affiliated club is invited to record and produce a compact account (2000-4000 words) on the history of ladies Gaelic football within their respective clubs.

Elements to include - when ladies Gaelic football began in the club, roll of honour, names of those key people who established LGFA in the club, provide a list of names of players who represented the club at County level, both adult and underage.

Did any of your club members serve on LGFA committees at County, provincial and or national levels. What role has ladies football played in the club and what is your club’s vision for the sport as we look to the future.

From an Inter County perspective we are seeking your assistance in gathering stories, news articles, match programmes, historical documents and photographs, which will be then used to compile, document and archive our history at County level. We are especially seeking items from our early years 1985 up to around 2010.

Several clubs may already have their historical information recorded and ready to share.

All historical information can be emailed to dublinlgfahistory@gmail.com
