TG4 Leinster SFC Round 3
Sunday May 5th | 14:00pm
Parnell Park, Donnycarney
Dublin vs Meath
This fixture as we all know is affectively a dress rehearsal ahead of the Croke Park Leinster final showdown between the same two Counties on May 12th.
Mick Bohan to his credit has named a strong match day squad for this latest contest with rivals Meath. In doing so, Bohan has rung the changes to the Dublin starting fifteen from that which began against Laois last Sunday.
Returning are, Leah Caffrey, Martha Byrne, Niamh Crowley, Aoife Kane, Jennifer Dunne, Lauren Magee, Caoimhe O’Connor, Orlagh Nolan, Carla Rowe and Hannah Tyrrell.
Two times All Star, Lauren Magee is a welcome addition to the Dublin line up. Magee picked up an injury against Mayo in the NFL back on February 3rd last and hasn’t featured for Dublin since.
No surprise, Annabelle Timothy retains her corner forward spot having nailed 3-02 from play last Sunday. Chloe Darby who is named on the bench is another player who excelled against Laois scoring 1-03. Her goal a superbly taken penalty kick. Hannah McGinnis, a minor in 2023 is again named in the Dublin half back line following another solid performance last weekend.
Since Meath returned to the senior ranks in 2021, we have witnessed fierce contests between these two proud footballing Counties. Sunday's latest chapter is bound to be another interesting tactical encounter in this sporting rivalry.
