LIDL NFL Div 1 Rd 3

February 4th, 2pm

Ballina Stephenites GAA Club

Mick Bohan has made one change to his starting fifteen from that which began against Meath last Sunday. Ashling Nyhan is named on the Dublin half forward line replacing Jodi Egan.

Having lost their first two games of their NFL campaign to Kerry and Meath respectively the pressure is coming on Dublin to respond to those defeats not only with a good performance on the road but to register a much-needed win.

Presently Dublin along with Galway and Waterford remain pointless in Division one. Kerry, Meath and Armagh have two wins from two games. While Cork and Mayo have one victory apiece. The bottom two teams in division one will drop automatically into division two at the end of the round robin campaign in previous seasons only one team took the drop.

Mayo now managed by former County star Liam McHale held on to claim an important win over Connacht neighbours Galway last Saturday. Corner forward, Lisa Cafferky bagged 2-01 from play and went on to pick up the player of the match award for her instrumental role in securing Mayo’s 2-05 to 0-10 victory.

Shane Curley from Galway will get proceedings underway in Ballina at 2pm.
