TG4 ALL STARS AWARDS 2023


THIS Saturday night the 2023 TG4 LGFA All Star team will be announced.


From receiving just two nominations in 2022 Dublin have no less than twelve players nominated for awards this year. An indication of the strides that where made on the field of play this season by the girls in blue.


Here are our 12 TG4 All Star nominees!


Goalkeeper Abby Shiels (Lucan Sarsfields), defenders Niamh Crowley (Fingallians), Leah Caffrey (Na Fianna), Martha Byrne (Cuala) & Lauren Magee (Kilmacud Crokes), midfield pair Jennifer Dunne (Cuala) & Eilish O’Dowd (Na Fianna), & forwards Orlagh Nolan (Ballinteer St Johns), Caoimhe O’Connor (Clontarf), Kate Sullivan (St Sylvesters), team captain Carla Rowe (Clann Mhuire) and Hannah Tyrrell (Na Fianna).

Of the twelve Dubs nominated for awards only five players are previous winners, Carla Rowe (2015,2016,2019), Leah Caffrey (2016,2017,2021), Lauren Magee (2018), Hannah Tyrrell (2021), and Orlagh Nolan (2021).

The Leinster champions also have two players in the running for the prestigious Players Player of the Year Award with Leah Caffrey and Jennifer Dunne up against Kerry’s Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh for this accolade. The winner is chosen by their follow peers.  


Previous Dublin winners of the PPOY award where Noelle Healy (2017), Sinead Aherne (2018) and Siobhan McGrath (2019).


Dubliner, Christina McGinty of Thomas Davis will be inducted into the TG4 Hall of Fame. Christina becomes the first former Dublin player to win this award and only the second Dubliner. The late Bill Daly of Ballyboden St Endas was inducted into the LGFA Hall of Fame back in 2006 for his contribution to the sport at club, provincial and national levels.
