Sullivan tops Dubs leader board!


With not one but two superb goals to her credit in last Sunday’s Leinster final Kate Sullivan finished up the TG4 Leinster championship campaign as Dublin’s top scorer pipping fellow forwards Hannah Tyrrell and Carla Rowe to the top spot on the scoring ladder.  


Dublin amassed 6-29 on route to their latest provincial title of which only 5 points came from frees.


The Dubs conceded 0-19 in their three championship outings while goalkeeper Abby Shiels kept a clean sheet throughout her sides Leinster campaign.


The final scoring tally saw Kate Sullivan bag an impressive 3-02, Hannah Tyrell hit 2-04 (2f) while team Captain Carla Rowe finished up with a total of 1-07 (3f).


Dublin’s other contributors to the score sheet were Jodi Egan (4pts), Caoimhe O’Connor (3pts), Jennifer Dunne (2pts), Sinéad Wylde (2pts). While Martha Byrne, Orlagh Nolan, Orla Martin, Leah Caffrey and Annabelle Timothy struck 0-01 each.

Rd 2 Dublin 3-14 Laois 0-03

Final Dublin 2-09 Meath 0-09


Dublin now turn their focus to the All-Ireland series with the Leinster champions pitted against Kerry and Cavan in group C. At the time of writing the LGFA have yet to confirm fixture details.


What we do know is that the opening round of the senior championship qualifiers takes place on Saturday 17th of June, round 2 on the 25th of June and round 3 on the 1st of July.


TG4 All Ireland senior quarter finals will take place on the 15th of July (3 games) and 16th of July (1 game). The All-Ireland semi-finals are pencilled in for the 29th of July.


The 2023 TG4 All Ireland senior final will take place on Sunday 13th of August with the replay if required taking place on the weekend of the 26/27th of August.


The business end of the championship is not far away with plenty of summer football to look forward to in the coming weeks.
