***TEAM NEWS***

Dublin have announced their team for this Sundays TG4 Leinster senior championship final showdown with Meath. The final is taking place in Laois Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise (4.15pm).

Dublin management have made four changes to their starting line out from that which began the championship round robin game versus Laois on May 7th last.

Coming into the Dubs first fifteen are Ellen Gribben, Jennifer Dunne, Lauren Magee and Kate Sullivan making way are Faye O’Connell Bell, Emma Strappe, Orla Martin and Sinéad Wylde.

This Sundays clash is a repeat of the 2022 provincial decider which was played for a historic first time in Croke Park. On that occasion Dublin defeated the Royal County by 1-07 to 1-05 to retain their Leinster crown. A second half Hannah Tyrrell converted penalty proving to be the decisive score that separated the rivals at the final whistle.

What a difference a year can make, as Dublin head in Sundays clash in Portlaoise without the services of experienced players such as Ciara Trant, Sinead Goldrick, Lyndsey Davey, Nicole Owens and Niamh Collins who all featured in that historic Croke Park victory less than 12 months ago.

Other notable absentees from the 2023 Dublin set up are injured duo Hannah Leahy and Jessica Tobin, as well as Kate McDaid, Siobhan Killeen and Sinead Aherne.

Eleven of Dublin’s match day squad will be experiencing their first Leinster final but will be bolstered by the Dubs performances to date in the Leinster championship which included a 3-14 to 0-03 win over Laois and a 1-06 to 0-07 first round championship victory chalked up over Meath in Navan.

Another Dublin team in action on Sunday in Portlaoise will be the under 10 girls from Na Gaeil Óga who will be representing their County during the Leinster final half time mini games.

Tickets remain on sale for Sundays Leinster triple bill in Portlaoise with Dublin and Meath sharing the stage alongside Kildare and Wexford (Intermediate final 2pm) and Carlow and Kilkenny (Junior final 12 noon).
