Rowe to Captain Dublin in 2023

Dublin Senior captaincy confirmed -


Dublin senior manager Mick Bohan has confirmed that Carla Rowe will captain the sky blues this season. Rowe who lead the team out in last Saturdays victory over Meath in the opening round of the 2023 LIDL NFL will be joined in the leadership role by Leah Caffrey who has been announced as the Dub’s vice-captain for the year ahead.


Rowe (28) who a is four times senior All Ireland winner made her sky-blue debut back in 2014. The Naul native, is one of the most renowned Gaelic footballers in the Country with three All Star awards, eight Leinster senior titles and two national football league medals to her name.


Newly appointed vice-captain, Leah Caffrey (28) is one of the most reliable and revered defenders in the modern game. Having made her senior debut back in 2013 the Na Fianna star has gone on to win three senior All Ireland titles, seven senior Leinster and two national football league medals.


Daughter of former Dublin footballer John Caffrey an All-Ireland winner with Dublin in 1983, Leah has also been an All-Star winner on three occasions.


A new look Dublin side got their 2023 NFL campaign off to a fine start last weekend with a 1-11 to 0-08 victory over Meath. This Sunday the Dub’s are on the road as they travel to Tuam Stadium (2pm) for their second round NFL encounter with Galway. Last Saturday, the tribeswomen enjoyed a 0-11 to 0-06 victory over Donegal in their opening game of the league.
