All Ireland U14 Quarter Final -

FT Score Dublin 1-02 Down 5-11

Dublin U14's bowed out of the All Ireland series on Saturday last (April 23rd) following a heavy defeat at the hands of Ulster provincial runners up Down.

Conditions in Dundalk IT were blustery to say the least and Dublin played against the strong wind for the opening 30 minutes of the game. Down used full advantage of the conditions and lead at half time by 3-07 to 0-02.

Dublin to their credit threw everything they had at Down in the second period of the game and got a timely boost when a Kate Keaney free kick found its way to the back of the Down net within moments of the restart.

However this goal would turn out to be Dublin's only score of the half as Down set up a sweeper system across their 45m line which the Dub's simply could not penetrant, try at they might.

Down were worthy winners of this contest and will go on to play Cork in the All Ireland semi final in the coming week.
