Dublin team named for Meath clash ….
Dublin senior manager, Mick Bohan has announced his team selection for this Saturday’s (Mar 5th) third and final round LIDL NFL division one group fixture versus Meath.
Following on from their victory over Cork in round two Dublin management remain faithful with their team selection by announcing an unchanged starting fifteen from that which began against the rebels on February 19th last.
Although the two teams meet in Septembers TG4 All Ireland final one has to go back to February 3rd, 2013, to find the last date that both teams meet in the NFL. On that occasion Dublin had just two points to spare over their Leinster rivals FT score 2-06 (12) to 0-10. The same season Meath found themselves relegated to division two gaining promotion back to topflight football in 2021.
Four of the current Dublin squad lined out versus Meath back in 2013 namely Leah Caffrey, Lyndsey Davey, Siobhan Woods and Hannah Tyrrell while keeper Cliodhna O’Connor is now part of the Dublin senior backroom team.
Both Counties have already qualified for the LIDL NFL semi-finals on Saturday Dublin and Meath will be aiming to take top spot in group 1B to set up a meeting with either Mayo or Donegal on March 19th next.

For those unable to make the trip to Navan the game will be broadcast live on TG4 with coverage commencing at 2.45pm, the action will get underway at 3pm. Match referee is Cavan’s Maggie Farrelly who recently made history by refereeing the Allianz football game between Leitrim and London in doing so became the first female referee to officiate a GAA fixture.
