DUBLIN TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT
TG4 All Ireland Senior Final
Sunday 5th September | 4.15pm
Croke Park, Dublin
Live on TG4
Dublin management have made three changes to the starting 15 for Sunday’s All Ireland final showdown with Meath from that which defeated Mayo in the semi-final.
Niamh Collins, Carla Rowe and Sinead Goldrick come into the starting line-up dropping out are Aoife Kane, Siobhan McGrath and Caoimhe O’Connor. Both Collins and Rowe did not feature in the victory over Mayo having picked up knocks in training the week of the game.
Earlier this week Dublin manager, Mick Bohan had flagged his concerns regarding the fitness of several key players. His team selection would indicate that his fears were well-founded with Siobhan McGrath and Niamh McEvoy listed amongst the Dublin replacements.
It is believed that McGrath’s injury occurred this week in training while McEvoy has been struggling to shake off a leg injury which she picked up prior to the game versus Mayo.
A feat which should be acknowledged, Dublin trio of Carla Rowe, Sinead Goldrick and Lyndsey Davey will be lining out in their eighth consecutive TG4 All Ireland senior final.
Overall, Lyndsey Davey will be playing in her eleventh senior final having played in the All-Ireland finals of 2004, 2009 and 2010, a remarkable achievement in the modern game.
