TEAM NEWS

This Saturday July 10th, reigning All Ireland champions Dublin begin the defence of their TG4 championship crown with an away encounter with Ulster championship semi-finalists, Tyrone.

Just seven players who lined out for Dublin in the All Ireland final against Cork on December 20th last will begin this Saturday’s championship contest for the girls in blue.

Missing from the starting line up are Niamh Collins, Aoife Kane, Siobhan McGrath, Sinead Goldrick, Lyndsey Davey, Sinead Aherne and Nicole Owens.

Six of the above are named amongst the Dublin replacements providing Mick Bohan with plenty of options off the bench if required.

Also absent from the championship starting 15 is former player of the year, Noelle Healy. The St Brigid’s star earlier this year announced her retirement from Inter County football.

The five times All Ireland winner will be playing a different role for Dublin in Cavan this Saturday having recently been announced as the Dublin senior team Doctor.

Coming into the Dublin championship starting fifteen are Laura McGinley, Hannah Leahy, Olwen Carey, Lucy Collins, Hannah Tyrrell, Caoimhe O’Connor, Niamh Hetherton and Siobhan Killeen.

All eight players featured in the LIDL NFL campaign this season with Hannah Tyrrell recently named on the Division 1 Team of the League.

Supporters can watch the game live via the following link with the action getting underway at 2pm. Dublin LGFA will also have live score updates available via their Twitter page.
