Dublin LGFA Weekly notes:

 

Leinster MFC:

Dublin Minor’s got their Leinster championship campaign underway with a 2-11 to 2-10 victory over Meath last Friday night in Dunganny. Well done to all the girls and their management on a wonderful team performance. A big thank you to all who travelled to Meath on Friday night to support the girls. Dublin will play Kildare at home in round 2 of the championship on March 15th next. LIDL NFL:

Dublin welcome Galway to the capital this Sunday for round 4 of the NFL. The game is scheduled to take place in Parnell Park at 2pm with DCU on standby should the pitch in Parnell Park become unplayable. Met Eireann is predicting heavy rainfall in the Dublin area for the coming week so please keep an eye on our website and social media pages for updates.


Leinster U14 Championship:

Stage 1 of the U14 championship is due to take place this Saturday 22nd of February. We are awaiting confirmation from Leinster Council regarding details on venue/ times / fixtures etc, updates will be posted on line once finalised.


February County Committee Meeting:

A meeting of the Dublin LGFA County Board will take place this Tuesday 18th of February. The main item on the agenda will be the ratification of the 2020 Juvenile league gradings (which have been circulated to club secretaries). Note club delegates must be registered LGFA members in order to have speaking and voting rights at county board meetings reminder also that one out of the three club delegates must be a registered adult female player.


Important dates:

The proposed commencement date of the 2020 Juvenile season is the weekend of the 29th February / 1st of March (U10 to minor) with U8 and U9 competitions commencing on the 21st / 22nd of March. Feile Atha Cliath will take place on the 4th / 5th of April as proposed and seconded by club delegates at the meeting of the Dublin LGFA County Board held on the 4th of February last. Clubs still to pay their team entries (affiliations) are required to do so as a matter of urgency while all club mentors should verify the registration status of all players ahead of the new playing season be especially careful to check that new or returning players are registered and therefore covered under the rules of the LGFA injury fund scheme.
