Dublin have four teams representing our County in the 2019 Feile girls competition, Clontarf (Division 1), Templeogue Synge St (Division 4), St Jude’s (Division 9) and Castleknock (Division 10).

 

The 2019 John West Feile Peile Na nÓg festival of football takes place this coming weekend. An amazing 851 games will be played over three dates (28/29/30th June) with close on 200 venues hosting matches right across the province of Connacht. On Sunday, 15 different venues will host 46 finals in 23 divisions making this event the largest ever Feile competition organised to date.


Sixteen teams representing ten Counties will battle it out for the honour to be crowned John West Division 1 Feile Peile Na nÓg Champion 2019. Dublin champions, Clontarf are placed in group B alongside Kilkerrin Clonberne (Galway), Corofin (Galway) and Southern Gaels (Kerry)


Clontarf get their national Feile campaign underway with a tough opening game versus Kilkerrin Clonberne of Galway on Friday afternoon at 4.45pm. Later that evening they take on Southern Gaels from Kerry in their second group game at 7pm.


Their final group game takes place on Saturday morning at 10:15am versus Corofin of Galway.

Templeogue Synge Street will compete in the fourth division at National Feile having won the division five crown in Dublin back in May. They are pooled alongside Kilmovee Shamrocks (Mayo), Ballyhaunis (Mayo) and Kinawley (Fermanagh).


Similar to division one, there are sixteen teams competing in division four with representation from eleven Counties.  Templeogue Synge Street will commence their bid for a national title with an opening game versus Kilmovee Shamrocks at 4.45pm on Friday afternoon followed by a 7pm encounter with Kinawley. On Saturday morning they face Ballyhaunis at 10:00am in their final group game.

St Judes are representing Dublin in division nine at National Feile having  won the division eight final in Dublin back in May following an epic battle with Craobh Chiarain that went all the way to extra time. St Jude’s are pooled in group B with CT Gaels (Sligo), Tourlestrane (Sligo) and Badoney (Tyrone)


Again, there are sixteen teams competing in division nine with eleven Counties represented.  St Jude’s first game will be on Friday evening versus CT Gaels from Sligo at 4.45pm followed up by a 7pm encounter with Badoney from Tyrone. On Saturday morning St Judes will take on Tourlestrane of Sligo at 10.00am.

Dublin champions, Castleknock will compete in division ten at National Feile. This division is made up of sixteen teams representing seven Counties including clubs from England, Scotland and the USA. The international composition of this division will add an exciting dynamic to the competition.   


Castleknock will play two games on Friday evening the first at 5.00pm versus Calry from Sligo and the second at 7pm versus Lancashire. On Saturday morning their final group fixture will get underway at 10am versus Drumkeerin of Leitrim.
