Dublin LGFA Weekly Notes:

 

August County Board meeting:

The Dublin LGFA County Board will meet this coming Tuesday August 21st at 7.30pm sharp in Parnell Park.

 

Inter County Update:

Dublin will play Galway in the TG4 SFC All Ireland semi- final this coming Saturday, August, 25th at 4.30pm in Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon. Tickets will be on sale at the ground and they can also be purchased on line from www.tickets.ie This is a triple bill with Roscommon v Meath (Inter) and Cork v Donegal (Senior) taking place ahead of the Dublin game.


Our Dublin U17 Squad are taking part in the National Blitz on Tuesday the 21st of August in Abbotstown. The event gets underway at 11am and is expected to run up until around 5.30pm. All in Dublin LGFA would like to Ciaran his management team and all the girls the very best of luck in the tournament.  


Eugene Egan Tournament:

Another hugely successful Eugene Egan memorial tournament took place in Naomh Mearnog / St Sylvesters on Sunday last. This underage Inter County Blitz is held in honour of our former County Secretary Eugene Egan.  We welcomed teams from Cork, Tipperary, Antrim, Monaghan and Kildare to the capital. A strong Cork side took home the cup while Dublin where shield winners. Images from the tournament are available to view on www.GAApics.com


GOAL KEEPING WORKSHOP:

Our second goalkeeping workshop of the year will take place this Saturday August 25th in IT Blanchardstown. Duration: 10am to 2:30pm this workshop is aimed at minor and adult goalkeepers, i.e. players 16 years+ 

Who should attend: Players who play in goal for their club or those players who may step into that position occasionally for their club team.


Fee per workshop: €25 includes light lunch

Areas covered will include:

• Goalkeeping Basics and Warm-Ups

• Dealing with high balls

• Shot-Stopping

• Kick-outs
