All Ireland Minor Championship Semi- Final
Saturday July 16th, 1:45pm
Dublin v Armagh
Inniskeen GAA Club, Co Monaghan
After their hard fought Leinster final win over Westmeath two weeks ago Dublin minors are back on the championship trail again. On this occasion the young Dubs are on the road north to the Monaghan town of Inniskeen and a semi-final meeting with Ulster champions, Armagh.
Dublinâs opponents, Armagh also had to dig deep to lift their provincial crown. The Orchard County had to fight back from a six point halftime deficit against Tyrone (2-07 to 1-04) to rally in the second half to win out on the score line of 5-12 to 4-09.
Dublin enjoyed a good Leinster campaign the only blip on their record came when Westmeath clawed their way back from ten points down to bring the final to extra time. Dublin to their credit rallied really well to outscore the Midland County by 5-05 to 0-01 in extra time. The victory back on July 3rd saw Dublin lift the Leinster provincial title for the 6th year in a row.
Dublin manager Martin McDonnell, is fully aware of the threat from Armagh who have a number of quality players amongst their ranks including Aoibheann Henderson who scored 1-05 in the Ulster final and Blaithain Mackin, younger sister of Armagh senior star, Aimee.
Everyone in Dublin LGFA would like to wish team Captain Tarah, all the girls and their management team of Martin McDonnell, Fergus O'Carroll, Teresa Molohan, Jonathan Rock, Stephen Maxwell and Lisa Byrne all the very best of luck on Saturday.
Dublin or Armagh will play the winners of Cork and Galway in the Minor All Ireland final on bank holiday, Monday August 1st at 3pm, venue TBC
Dublin LGFA will have LIVE score updates available from Clane via our Twitter page @dublinladiesg
