U16 Dubs look forward to Leinster Final

Leinster U16 Final 2016
Sunday June 26th, 3.15pm
Dublin v Meath
Clane GAA club, Co Kildare
Having an 11 week gap in between competitive fixtures is hardly ideal preparation for any team trying to defend their provincial crown but this is the scenario facing the Dublin U16 team as they get ready for Sundayâs showdown with Meath.
Pat Kaneâs side last played a competitive championship fixture on the 9th of April, on that date Dublin saw off the challenge from Louth on a score line of 7-09 to 2-09. The victory setting the Dubâs up for a June 26th Leinster final appearance versus old foes, Meath.
Dublinâs only blip on their Leinster championship scorecard this season was their opening round defeat to the Royals back in February. Meath playing before a large home crowd in their new centre of excellence in Dunganny defeated their neighbours by eight points, FT score Meath 6-06 Dublin 3-07.
However, Dublin bounced back well from that defeat going on to register four comprehensive victories in a row over Longford, Kildare, Laois and Louth respectfully.
Sundayâs final which is down for a 3.15pm throw in time in Clane GAA club Co Kildare (despite the best efforts of Dublin LGFA to have the throw in time moved to an earlier time) will be an interesting tussle. Meath will be striving to win their first U16 title since 2009 while Dublin on the other hand is aiming to secure their seventh Leinster title in a row.
Dublin LGFA would like to take this opportunity to wish team Captain, Rachel Brennan, all the girls and the Dublin management team of Pat Kane, Fearghall Brennan, Lee Moroney, Stephen Healy, Grace Dunne, Deirdre Colgan and physio Ciara Farrell all the very best of luck in Sundayâs final.
Dublin LGFA will have LIVE score updates available from the game via their Twitter page @dublinladiesg
