Dublin LGFA are pleased to share details with you regarding our Referees courses for Jan / Feb 2020 - details below


Bookings can now be made online via our website www.dublinladiesgaelic.ie

You will only be requested to create an account once so remember to keep your log in details safe.


Once the max number of places per course has been reached the system will not allow / permit further bookings.

Please remember that all courses / workshops are organised via the LGFA in Croke Park and are subject to their approval and tutor availability as such we cannot guarantee when we can run extra high demand courses, so please have patience with us on this matter.

Grab Your Whistle Go Games Referee Course

All participants must be 15 years of age and over to take part on the course however please note individuals must be sixteen years of age to referee an official fixture. Sixteen is the min. age required to be GARDA vetted. All participants must bring a whistle with them on the day of the course.

As per Dublin LGFA refereeing policy on completion of this course participants are qualified to referee U8 to U10 fixtures (Home Club Fixtures)


***Club Youth Referee Course (NEW Course)***

All participants must be 17 years of age and over

Ideally participants should have a min 1-2 years LGFA referees experience

All participants should be aware the course is 7 hours duration which includes both theory / practical aspects of refereeing.

Participants will be refereeing a section of a juvenile game in the afternoon as part of the course, please bring appropriate clothing / footwear / whistle.

Participants must complete the full course to obtain their refereeing certificate. (light refreshments will be served at this course).

As per Dublin LGFA refereeing policy on completion of this course participants are qualified to referee juvenile club fixtures as appointed by Dublin LGFA.


LEVEL 2 Referee Course

All participants must be 17 years of age and over

All participants must have completed the LGFA GYW Level 1 course or have refereed Gaelic football for a minimum of five years

In order to be considered for Dublin LGFA appointments in 2020 referees must complete a level 2 course, obtain a 80% pass mark on their rules written test paper and complete a fitness test (Date of which to be confirmed).


In the LGFA any person who carries out a role of responsibility such as coaching, managing or training underage teams or indeed adult teams that contain any player under 18 yrs of age must be vetted. It also applies to organising underage activities or refereeing underage games.
