Gaelic 4 Girls in Damastown Park - Mulhuddart

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association in association with Fingal County Council are running a programme called Gaelic4Girls in Damastown Park every Wednesday for 6 weeks beginning Wednesday 9th April. Aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football, the programme has been rolled out nationally in disadvantaged areas. Gaelic4Girls targets girls between the ages of 10 and 13 yrs and attracts an attendance of approximately 50 girls at different venues across the country.  Having completed the 6 week programme at each venue the girls will then come together to participate in a fun National Blitz Day in Croke Park. On this day the participants of all the Gaelic4Girls programmes taking place nationally will take part in fun games and receive their medals and certificates of attendance.

This is the first Gaelic4Girls programme to be held in the area and it is hoped that all these girls will continue to play Ladies Gaelic Football by joining their local clubs. This is a great way to make new friends and learn a new sport!

Gaelic 4 Girls Comes to Pearse Street

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association in partnership with Dublin City Council will run a 6 week programme of Gaelic football for girls in the Pearse Street area. These girls will never have played the sport before and will be given the opportunity to get involved in the Ladies Gaelic football through this programme. Gaelic 4 Girls will run every Monday for 6 weeks, beginning Monday 7th April, in Pearse House from 4-5pm for 6-9 year olds and from 5-6pm for 10-13 year olds.

The girls will be taught the basic skills of Gaelic football on a fun basis by fully qualified coaches and will then demonstrate their new skills on the final day through a mini blitz of games. All girls will be presented with a ‘Gaelic 4 Girls’ t-shirt, medal and certificate. The programme has been a huge success in other areas in the county including Darndale, Cabra, Finglas and Crumlin. It is hoped that all these girls will continue to play Ladies Gaelic Football by joining their local clubs.
