End of season 2022 – Part 2
We continue to share some interesting stats and figures with you from our 2022 playing season ahead of this Saturdays Dublin LGFA Annual Convention.
Our small-sided fixtures programme (Go Games) once again saw a massive growth in playing numbers with 766 teams fielding from U8 to U12 age groups this season. This was an increase of 113 teams from that which took to the playing fields the year previous.
The largest increase came at the U9 age group which had an 59.29% increase followed by U11 with 17.50%, U10 with 7.53%, U12 with 7.27% and finally an increase of 3.66% at U8.
These age groups make up 43% of our playing membership with 10,601 players approx. registered with Dublin LGFA in 2022.
Massive well done to all our clubs, coaches and young players! Not forgetting our pool of Go Games referees who officiated at this vital level throughout the year ensuring football games went ahead for all our rising young stars.
Niall Kelly from Thomas Davis took on the role of Small Sided games fixtures coordinator in January 2022. Niall did a fantastic job overseeing the implementation of this massive schedule of fixtures, thank you!
