Dublin have won their first U16 provincial title since 2017 when they defeated Meath by three points on Saturday afternoon in Lawless Park, Sword’s home of Fingallians GAA club.


The home County lead at the half time break by 2-05 to 0-03 with the opening goals of the first half coming from St Jude’s sharpshooter, Eimear Kehoe. Ballyboden St Endas, Karrie Rudden was also in fine form up front for the sky blues contributing 5 points to her sides overall tally.


Meath as expected fought back bravely in the second half narrowing the deficit to withing three points following a Laura Campion goal but the key strike of the game came just on the 60th minute when Na Fianna’s Sophie O’Brien bagged Dublin’s third goal to see off the challenge of the Royal County and seal victory for the Dubs.
