Leinster U16 A Final

Saturday 7th May, 2pm

Lawless Memorial Park, Swords

Fingallians GAA club in Swords will host the 2022 U16 Leinster final this Saturday after Dublin were pulled out of the hat as host County. Leinster Council took the decision to allow the bordering Counties toss for home venue as opposed to fixing the game at a neutral ground in another County.

The Swords club are looking forward to welcoming a large crowd to Lawless Park for what should be a really entertaining game of football between two evenly matched teams.

When the two Counties played on the opening day of the competition it was Dublin who enjoyed a 4-09 to 2-09 victory. In round two, Dublin lost out to Kildare by 1-13 to 2-05 before getting their campaign back on track with a 5-09 to 0-04 points win over Laois.

Meath on the other hand had overcome the challenge posed by Kildare to register a 6-10 to 1-07 victory having defeated Laois by 5-08 to 1-09.

When the round robin stage of the competition concluded three Counties finished level on points namely Kildare, Dublin and Meath and as per rule, scoring difference came into play. Meath (+23) and Dublin (+21) edged out Kildare (+8) to qualify for the Leinster U16 A Final.

Wishing the Dublin U16 squad and their management team led by Fintan Keeling all the very best of luck in Saturday’s provincial final.

Admission to the venue is by ticket only adults €5, students €2, under16’s free of charge tickets can be purchased from this link  https://www.universe.com/events/leinster-u16-a-final-dublin-v-meath-tickets-HLZ5G9
