TG4 Senior championship Group 3, Rd 2

Saturday July 17th, 2pm

Dublin v Waterford

Baltinglass GAA club, Wicklow

Five changes for Dublin vs Na Déise

Dublin management have made five changes to their starting line out from that which began last week’s opening tie against Tyrone.

Coming into the match day squad to face Waterford are Niamh Collins, Orlagh Nolan, Siobhain McGrath, Lyndsey Davey and Carla Rowe. Making way are Hannah Leahy, Lucy Collins, Laura McGinley, Siobhain Killeen and Niamh Hetherton.

Waterford and Dublin last met in championship fare last November when the Déise County made the Dubs work hard to secure a 0-17 to 1-10 victory. The two sides met again earlier this year in the LIDL NFL with Dublin chalking up a 6-15 to 2-12 win over their Munster opponents.

Should Dublin overcome the challenge of Waterford on Saturday in Baltinglass they will secure top spot in group 3. A victory will put the reigning All Ireland champions into the quarter final where they will face the runner up of group 4 (Galway, Donegal or Kerry).

If Dublin loose out to Waterford all eyes will then turn to the final fixture in group 3 between Tyrone and Waterford, which is down for decision on July 24th. Runner up in group 3 will play the winner of group 1 in the All-Ireland quarter final. Group 1 consists of Armagh, Cavan, Monaghan and Mayo.

Saturday’s game in Baltinglass will have a huge influence in how the championship unfolds for both Counties.
