Dublin got their Leinster U16 championship off to a winning start following their 7 point win over Kildare this afternoon in Hawkfield.


Dublin lead at the break by 1-4 to 0-3 with Sarah O’Leary raising the green flag for the visitors.


Dublin settled well in the second half with their defence working hard to keep the Kildare forwards at bay.


A number of second half points from half forward Amy O’Brien pushed Dublin ahead of their Leinster rivals while centre forward Sarah O’Leary worked hard throughout the contest and ended the game with a personal tally of 1-4.


Overall it was an good performance by the Dubs over a hotly tipped Kildare side.


Dublin play Wexford next Sunday April 8th, venue and time to be confirmed.
