Dublin LGFA Weekly notes 5th December 2016

Congratulations to St Maur’s on capturing the Junior All Ireland title on Saturday last following a tremendous battle with Kinsale of Cork in Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow. At the end the girls from Rush held on to claim a famous victory over their Cork opponents, FT score St Maurs 2-13 Kinsale 3-08. Olivia Leonard was awarded the Player of the Match accolade following a superb performance which saw the Dublin senior panellist net 1-05 from play.

In Sunday’s senior club All Ireland final Dublin champions, Foxrock Cabinteely lost out to reigning champions Donaghmoyne on the score line of 2-09 to 0-08. All season Foxrock Cabinteely have been tremendous ambassadors for our sport and County having won both the County and Provincials titles on route to their first appearance in a Senior Club All Ireland final.

The Annual Convention of Dublin LGFA took place on Saturday last in Parnell Park with the following elected to serve on the Executive Committee for the 2016/2017 term; Chairperson Joe Keane (Clann Mhuire), Secretary Mary O’Connor (St Brigids), Treasurer Eilis Waters (Naomh Mearnog), Vice Chairperson Alan Egan (St Monica’s), Assistant Secretary Kathleen Colreavy (Naomh Mearnog), Culture & Language Officer Pat O’Donoghue (Cuala), Development Officer Pat Kane (Clanna Gael Fontenoy). The positions of PRO and Registrar remained unfilled nominations for both posts can be forwarded to County Secretary Mary O’Connor on or before the next County Board meeting.
